Massage Therapy
There are different types of massage and facials available at Granger Massage Retreat and your needs may change during different sessions. Please let your therapist know your goals for your current session so that she may alter her pressure and targeted bodywork so you are able get the most out of your massage.
Relaxation
This type of massage uses Swedish and other gentle massage techniques to provide general, lighter pressure massage to focus on relieving stress and to provide relaxation. This is a good massage to start with if it’s your first massage or you have experienced pain from a deep tissue massage in the past.
Deep Tissue/Therapeutic
Therapeutic Massage focuses on targeted muscles and joints to increase blood flow and range of motion. A firmer pressure is used in order to break up “knots” and bundles of overly used muscles or those recovering from injury. During this massage the therapist will incorporate deep pressure, stretches and joint physics to further benefit from the bodywork.
Prenatal/Pregnancy
Special technique, care, and positioning are used to provide comfort and relaxation for the mommy-to-be. Some areas may receive deeper pressure to relieve muscles that have expanded or tightened as a result all of the new changes her body has gone through during this time. Special care is used during the massage to avoid certain areas and points on the woman’s body that are sensitive to bodywork during pregnancy.
Facials
Classic Facial 60 Minutes
Your facial will begin with an in depth consultation with your esthetician to assure your treatment is based on your specific skin care needs. Each facial service begins with a relaxing face, neck and shoulder massage. This is followed by a facial cleanse, exfoliation, mask and moisturizer.
Facial Fusion 90 Minutes
The Facial Fusion begins with an upper body massage followed by a facial that is customized to your personal skin care wants and needs which includes cleansing, exfoliation, mask and moisturizer.
Somatic Work
Somatic work is a gentle, body-centered approach to healing that honors the deep connection between your body, mind, and nervous system. Instead of focusing only on thoughts or symptoms, this work invites you to slow down and listen to what your body is holding—tension, patterns, stress, or even unprocessed experiences.
Your body already knows how to move toward balance. Somatic work simply creates the space and support for that process to unfold.
Sessions may include a blend of breathwork, mindful movement, therapeutic touch (with consent), connection to nature, and moments of play. Each session is guided by what feels safe, supportive, and appropriate for you in the moment. There is no pressure to “perform” or do anything a certain way—this is about meeting yourself where you are.
This work can support:
● Nervous system regulation
● Stress and tension release
● Reconnection with your body
● Emotional processing in a grounded way
● A deeper sense of presence and ease
